What you can expect
I pride myself on providing a reliable service with timely communications and efficient turnaround times. My guitar parts will be professional grade , recorded on professional standard equipment and to brief. I double and triple track guitar parts as required, which means playing everything two or three times.
How things work:
- Contact me to discuss the brief and get a quote.
- Provide stems or backing track(s) if required.
- I'll send you a demo mix for your approval (modifications and re-do's detailed below).
- I'll invoice you via payPal. You can pay using your PayPal account or a credit card, all under PayPal's buyer protection.
- Once payment has cleared I'll upload the stems to your required format via FTP, yousendit or soundcloud - whatever suits you.
Before we start
Be sure to include any requests or requirements into your brief. If you want a solo "like slash" or a rhythm track "like the Sugababes" then please say before I start tracking. I'm happy to work without a brief with the caveat that no brief does not include unlimited modifications.
Please make sure your backing track is suitable i.e. in tune, in time (unless it's not meant to be) etc - I will play to what you give me.
Modifications and re-do's
If you are unhappy with your demo track I am happy to make a reasonable number of changes to your tracks within the original brief. Additional parts not detailed in the original brief will incur a top-up fees (agreed before commencement) Please ensure that your original brief is as accurate as possible.
Demo mixes
Demo mixes are intended for you to be able to approve my guitar parts. They are not final mixes. I can put you in touch with producers who offer online mixing services - feel free to ask.
Payment
I have found that the fairest system is to provide a preview/demo version of your track for approval before you have to pay a penny. Full tracks/stems will be delivered once you are happy with your preview version and have paid the agreed amount.
Download Period
We will make your tracks available for download for as long as possible. Additional downloads or delivery of physical copies may be subject to a reasonable surcharge.
Copyright
Most sessions will involve adding instrumentation to your composition on a buy-out basis so copyright remains with the you (or the the composer if that's not you). The copyright for projects that involve joint writing will be discussed prior to recording.
Performance Royalty
Any tracks intended for broadcast commercial release will generate a performance royalty. Please ensure that the appropriate paper work is completed so that this royalty can be collected on behalf of the performer.
Please contact us if you are unsure or need any advise or contact Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) for the UK or the equivalent agency for your territory.
Writer Royalties
Tracks used for broadcast or commercial release also generate a royalty for the writer of the track. Most sessions will involve adding instrumentation to an existing composition on a buy-out basis so will not generate any writer royalty for the performer. A writer royalty should be paid for projects that involve additions to the underlying composition. This will be agreed prior to beginning the project. Please complete the appropriate paper work to record the agreed writing credit share.
