Gear

Rest assured that your guitar parts will be recorded using high quality professional equipment. Feel free to request a particular piece of gear to be used on your project.

Parker Deluxe Refined

PARKER_GUITAR

Everything stock and perfect the way it is. Smooth and clinical sounds.

Peavey Wolfgang Special

WOLFGANG

Everything stock except the Bareknuckle pickups ('Cold Sweat' and "Miracle Man') and the coil-tap. A perfect rock guitar.

Ibanez Universe UV777 (7 String)

UNIVERSE

Chunky low-end grunt.

1995 USA Stratocaster Standard

STARTOCASTER

Typical and classic strat tones. Great cleans and bluesy crunch.

Starfield Altair SJ Custom

STARFIELD

A rare guitar with some modifications. Seymour Duncan Vintage Rail at the bridge, Quarterpounder in the middle position and stock single coil at the neck. Fitted with a Roland GR3 MIDI pickup. I mainly use this guitar to capture MIDI performances including a "played" feel for MIDI bass lines.

Taylor 112

Taylor

My most regularly used acoustic guitar. Bright, woody and earthy tone. Sounds great close mic-ed with a good microphone.

Ibanez EP9RBR Euphoria

Euphoria

Great plugged-in electro acoustic tones.

Epiphone PR 200 "Trash Guitar"

EPIPHONE_ACOUSTIC

Sometimes a track demands the less polished sound of a "trash" guitar. It's nearly 20 years old and is the guitar Owen wrote some of his first songs on. It has made a few trips to the beach parties and has the scars to prove it. Owen also has trash basses and electrics for the rare cases that they might be needed (not pictured).

Lakland Skyline 55-02 (5 String)

LAKLAND

This 5 string Lakland Skyline 55-02 is Owen's main session bass. Although Owen has a workhorse bass amp he tends to use it DI'ed most of the time.

Yamaha RBX 774

YAMAHA_RBX

Although not Owen's main instrument this bass has proved itself a real workhorse in the studio.

Amps

AMPS

These are Owen's main two amplifiers when not using virtual amps. The Engl is a tight and clinical amp with pristine high gain tones.

The Fender has glassy cleans, punchy crunch and bluesy high gain sounds.

For detailed clean sounds an SE Z5600a II microphone is well suited. For louder stuff a tried-and-tested Shure SM57 is a better fit.

Ukulele & Mandolin

UKE_MANDO

A recent project required Ukulele and Mandolin so Owen stepped up and gave it a go!
